Optional Content Header

The Coastal Cup is scheduled for June 13th through June 18th.

We hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable race.

I am pleased to write that time remains within which to register for the Coastal Cup; an NOR amendment has been published moving the Entry Deadline back to May 27 at 1800. Don’t pass up this opportunity to race down our beautiful and challenging Coast with your friends.

Kame Richards of Pineapple Sails has graciously agreed to again speak at the skippers meeting on June 12 about strategies for the Race. Don’t miss his informative presentation.

If you have delivery sails and gear you would like help moving from Encinal Yacht to Santa Barbara Yacht Club, I will be towing a small enclosed trailer down that can accommodate folded sails and some gear. Contact me to discuss this complimentary available service if it will serve you.

Race Description

The Coastal Cup returns to the beautiful city of Santa Barbara. Though little more than an hour north of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara is an oasis of peace and quiet on the warm, sandy California coast. The Spanish architecture and rugged mountains sloping down to the sea combine to give the city a distinctively Mediterranean flavor, and make it a tourist favorite.

Racing down the coast to Santa Barbara is fun and challenging, featuring a wide range of conditions - from the unpredictable upwind beat out past Land's End, the white knuckle spinnaker reaching off the treacherous Pt. Conception and Pt. Sur, to ghosting in the light morning breezes through the Channel Islands to finish off Santa Barbara. There is truly something to satisfy every sailing appetite.

Please consult this page for further updates and for race results in the coming weeks and months.
