EYC High School Sailing
The Encinal Yacht Club High School Sailing Program is for sailors in grades 8-12 wanting to sharpen their sailing skills through the fall, winter, & spring. Throughout the school year, participants in the program attend regular practices at EYC and several weekend regattas around the Bay Area and in Southern California. See link at right to register. Register for Fall High School Sailing Here There will be an informational meeting on Sunday,
Sept. 21st at 4:30 at EYC.
The Pacific Coast Interscholastic Sailing Association (PCISA), divided into NorCal and SoCal circuits, is set up to encourage maximum growth and participation among the state's high school sailors. The regatta schedule consists of six NorCal regattas and 5 all-PCISA regattas. Although a complete team consists of four sailors from the same school, a student is still eligible for the program even if they are the only sailor from their school. The EYC High School Program consists of five full teams with other eligible sailors from four other schools with partial teams. Each complete team has a parent coordinator to manage communication and logistics for regatta and practice attendance. In addition to serving as coordinators for the Acalanes Sailing Team, Barb and Steve Grove also serve as the overall EYC-to-team coordinators to ensure clear communication among all teams. The following schools are currently involved in the program. If you are a student attending a school with an existing sailing team and would like more information, contact the parent advisor(s) listed next to the school name. If you are a student at a school with a partial team (under 4 sailors) or would like to start a team at your school, contact Junior Sailing at juniors@encinal.org, or (510) 769-0221 for more information.
